The School of Law at China West Normal University was established in 2006 based on the law undergraduate program launched by the Department of Politics and Law in 1996,The School has grown into a key center for legal education and it offers both a law undergraduate program and a Master’s degree in law, with over 800 full-time undergraduates and 100 graduate students enrolled.

The school boasts a highly qualified faculty,with strong ethical standards, high teaching quality, and robust research capabilities, featuring a well-balanced age and title structure. Over 90% of its professional course teachers having practical experience in law, including roles as lawyers and arbitrators. In the past five years, the faculty has published over 150 academic papers, with many graduate teaching cases developed by faculty were selected in China Professional-degree Case Center.

Equipped with more than 20,000 Chinese and foreign language legal books, the school also offers a wealth of electronic and video resources. Students benefit from modern facilities such as a moot court and legal clinic. The school has over 50 practical teaching bases across public, judicial, and legal institutions in Sichuan., In 2014, the school was designated a "Sichuan Provincial Excellent Legal Talent Training Base" and in 2021, it was recognized as a provincial-level first-class undergraduate program.

The Law School places a strong emphasis on academic integrity and focuses on developing students' overall qualities based on enhancing their professional skills.. Students have achieved outstanding results in various competitions, including the Sichuan Provincial University Moot Court Competition, College Student Copyright Essay Competition, campus debate Competitions, and speech contests, as well as in recreational and extracurricular activities.
