Recently, Tongwei Group signed a cooperation agreement with Mexico's major power company, Grupo Dragon. According to the agreement, the two companies will collaborate to provide green energy solutions for Elektra, Mexico's largest electronics retail chain, by jointly establishing 227 "Solar Storage Stores." Once completed, the project is expected to generate an average annual power output of 35.5 million kW/h, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 33,400 tons.

Grupo Dragon, a subsidiary of Grupo Salinas, has been deeply involved in Mexico's power sector since 2010 and is a key partner of the Mexican national grid. Elektra, the largest electronics chain in Mexico, plans to install rooftop photovoltaic systems in its 227 warehouse stores to ensure a reliable power supply for its operations. The project, driven by Grupo Dragon, will utilize high-efficiency photovoltaic modules provided by Tongwei.

The quality and rapid supply capabilities of Tongwei's products were significant factors in Grupo Dragon's decision to choose Tongwei modules. To ensure the project's efficient operation, Tongwei conducted multiple rigorous tests, including high-altitude pulse testing, to ensure that the products can adapt to Mexico's diverse topography and significant vertical climate variations, thereby guaranteeing efficient power generation.

To further strengthen the partnership, in June 2024, Grupo Dragon's CEO Francisco and COO Juan Luis visited Tongwei Solar Technology's Jintang Base. They experienced firsthand the “intelligent” manufacturing capabilities of Tongwei's super factory and witnessed the company's robust supply assurance capabilities.
