On June 25th, the 2024 “Qiqushan Cuiyunlang Cup” China Pro Cycling League (Sichuan Zitong Stage), commenced at the Qiqushan Scenic Area in Zitong County. It is co-hosted by the Chinese Cycling Association and the Zitong County People's Government, and undertaken by the Zitong County Education and Sports Bureau and Mianyang Qiqushan Tourism Development Co., Ltd.

At 8 a.m., the opening ceremony of the 2024 “Qiqushan Cuiyunlang Cup” China Pro Cycling League (Sichuan Zitong Stage) was held. Twenty teams, including Chinese UCI-registered men's continental teams and the top five provincial and municipal professional/club teams from last year's China Pro Cycling League rankings, featuring 153 athletes, made a spectacular appearance.
The total distance of the race is 186.8 kilometers, consisting of four laps of 46.7 kilometers each. The starting point is set at the South Gate Visitor Center Square of Qiqushan Scenic Area. The course follows the ancient Sichuan Road's Cuiyunlang, traversing the scenic roads of Qiqushan, passing landmarks such as Shui Guanyin, Qiqushan Great Temple, Jiudian Pass, the new National Road 108, and through Zitong County's urban area to the finish line.
At 9 a.m., the 2024 "Qiqushan Cuiyunlang Cup" China Road Cycling Professional League (Sichuan Zitong Stage) officially kicked off. As the starting whistle blew, the cyclists sped off like a gust of wind, racing fiercely along the course. They weaved through the ancient cypress forest, experiencing the serene and liberating atmosphere of the millennia-old trees.

After four hours of intense competition, Luke from the Li-Ning Star Continental Team emerged as the champion of this stage. Peter from the Chengdu Continental Team secured second place, while Hu Haijie from the Shenzhen Xidesheng Team took third place.
In recent years, Zitong County has implemented innovative measures to protect and utilize the ancient cypress trees of Cuiyunlong, significantly enhancing the construction of sports venues and facilities. The county has also actively promoted premium sports tourism routes, making "Tour Zitong with the Events" a top choice.
