Recently, the 2025 list of typical metaverse cases was officially announced, featuring a total of 193 projects nationwide. Eleven projects from Chengdu made the list, including four typical digital human cases, six typical product cases, and one typical park case. The number of selected projects ranks first among sub-provincial cities, highlighting Chengdu’s innovative strength and leading position in the metaverse industry.

The selected cases cover diverse scenarios such as digital humans, AR smart hardware, industrial metaverse, digital twins technology, intelligent connected vehicles, urban digital infrastructure, and industrial parks. These cases are technologically advanced, mature in application, and highly exemplary, comprehensively demonstrating Chengdu’s leading advantages in technological innovation, scenario integration, and industrial clustering.

Entering 2026, Chengdu’s metaverse industry is entering a period of intensive policy support. In January this year, Sichuan Province announced the Key Directions for Emerging Industrial Tracks, identifying 25 new industrial tracks. Chengdu, either independently or in collaboration with other cities, is responsible for 18 of these tracks. Among them, the industrial metaverse is prominently featured, with Chengdu focusing on nurturing key technologies such as digital twins, digital humans, intelligent interaction, and virtual reality/augmented reality.

Currently, over 80% of large shopping malls in Chengdu have deployed VR gaming or metaverse experience projects, primarily attracting consumers born in the 1990s and 2000s, which forms a stable and emerging consumer market.

Moving forward, Chengdu will seize this opportunity to strengthen policy support, optimize the industrial ecosystem, accelerate the commercialization of achievements, promote deep integration of the metaverse into fields such as manufacturing, cultural tourism, transportation, and urban governance, cultivate and expand new productive forces, and strive to become a national innovation hub for the metaverse industry.
