On April 10th, the opening ceremony of the 4th Sichuan Provincial ‘Harmonious and Beautiful Countryside’ Basketball Tournament (Village BA) kicked off at the Sports Park in Chongtan Village, Gongjing District, Zigong City. A total of 16 teams and 240 basketball players competed in dozens of exciting matchups. This farming community’s basketball event is not only a stage for sports competition but also a window showcasing rural culture, vividly reflecting the vibrant vitality and new look of Zigong's harmonious and beautiful countryside.

That evening, the host team of Gongjing District, Zigong City, played a friendly match against the team from Weiyuan County, Neijiang City, amid cheers from the audience, officially kicking off the 2026 season of rural basketball across the province. Both teams went all out from the start. On the court, players were seen sprinting, stripping, passing, and shooting in seamless motion. The spectators were enthusiastic, with cheers and shouts rising one after another.

It is reported that as a key brand event promoting the high-quality development of rural sports in Sichuan Province, the ‘Village BA’ is a rural sports gala rooted in villages and local communities. The event not only serves as a window to showcase the new era's farming community's spirit and rural outlook but also serves as a dynamic platform to rally people, boost the local economy, and cultivate a civilized rural culture.
