Recently, the 2026 World Drone Games were held at the Xinchuanzhixin Robot Park in Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.
At the Games
During the competition, events such as drone weightlifting, drone fencing, and drone basketball took place in turn, showcasing the capabilities of drone systems from different dimensions.
The event attracted participants from multiple countries and regions. International student teams competed with teams from domestic universities, vocational schools, and enterprises, engaging in technical competitions under same rules and at the same place, further strengthening the event's openness and international appeal.
At the Games
An exhibition area was also set up on-site, showcasing drone application scenarios and its technical capabilities, complementing the competitions. This extends the demonstration of technical capabilities from the competition arena to real-world applications, further strengthening the event's role as a bridge between technology showcase and industry understanding.
At the Games
As the main venue for the World Drone Games, Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone leverages its local industrial foundation and innovation resources in the low-altitude economy sector. It promotes a dual-core development model of "complete aircraft development + operation services", represented by electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and medium-to-large industrial drones. The zone has initially built a full-industry-chain ecosystem covering research, development and design, complete aircraft manufacturing, operation management, and scenario application. It has gathered 104 enterprises in the low-altitude economy ecosystem, accounting for over 70% of the city’s low-altitude economy chain-leading enterprises. In November 2025, the Sichuan Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone Low-Altitude Aircraft Manufacturing Standardization Pilot was successfully selected as a 2025 national standardization pilot project.
