The 2026 Chengdu Sino-Dutch Sports & Trade Forum was recently held at the Private Sector Development Promotion Center in Qingyang District.

Inside the venue, two thematic videos were shown in succession. The vibrant scenes of Chengdu's opening-up and urban energy, juxtaposed with lively images of the ‘Sporty Dutch’ initiative, allowed guests to truly appreciate the significance of ‘sport without borders.’

The industry dialogue session formed the core of the Forum, focusing on key topics such as sports technology innovation and the enhancement of sports venues. Representatives from participating companies took turns speaking, sharing industry experiences and innovative achievements.

Netherlands, a globally renowned football powerhouse, has long established a deep connection with Chengdu's Qingyang District through its football culture. In 2022, the Johan Cruyff Court, named after the legendary Dutch footballer, was inaugurated in Qingyang's Intangible Cultural Heritage Park · Wanpai All-Sports Park, becoming an iconic venue for Sino-Dutch sports cultural exchange. During this exchange Forum, Niels, CEO of the Cruyff Court, specially presented the iconic Cruyff number 14 jersey to Ma Mingyu, former captain of the China national men's football team, as an expression of optimism for the future of Sino-Dutch sports cooperation.

At the Forum, the Chengdu Opening-up Cooperation Promotion Center and the Chengdu Titaohui Sports Industry Resources Trading Platform delivered special presentations, building efficient and smooth cooperation bridges for bilateral exchanges and resource integration between the Chinese and Dutch sports industries.
