The 55th Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival will light up and welcome visitors in early February 2026 at Xifeng Island, Dong'an Lake, Longquanyi District, Chengdu. With the theme ‘Sichuan Lanterns Shine on the World · Dreamy Dong'an Lake,’ this edition of the lantern festival delves deep into and innovatively revitalizes the resources and values of ‘national treasure culture, Shu Road culture, The Three Kingdoms culture, poetry culture, post-horse culture, and Hakka culture.’ Spanning over 330 acres on Xifeng Island, the festival will feature a dazzling lantern display organized into ‘five zones and one center.’

It is reported that this year's lantern festival will showcase over 40 sets of colorful lanterns, including four ultra-large lantern sets standing 12 meters or taller. Additionally, the festival will innovatively apply the concepts of "IP empowerment, scene integration, and vitality-driven design" to create new integrated design experiences.

Moreover, two classic IPs authorized by "Shangying Yuan" under the Shanghai Film Group—‘Havoc in Heaven’ and ‘Panda Department Store’—will also make an appearance at the festival. As the Great Sage Equal of Heaven (Sun Wukong) arrives riding a heavenly steed and the warm glow of the ‘Panda Department Store’ illuminates the night at Dong'an Lake, these timeless images will evoke familiar warmth and resonance in people’s hearts.

A new start brings a new atmosphere. The 55th Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival will use lanterns as a medium and light as ink to paint a vibrant picture of traditional and modern fusion, culture, and innovative consumption in the ‘park city beneath the snow-capped mountains · the happy Chengdu full of life.’ The festival aims to present a cultural event with distinct regional characteristics, embodying ‘Sichuan style, Chengdu charm, and Longquan features.’
