On December 25th, infrared cameras installed on the ridge of Xiaocaogang Mountain in the Dayi area of the Giant Panda National Park captured precious footage of a snow leopard family of three traveling together.

In the footage, the agile mother leopard leads the way, walking steadily and cautiously, with each step taken carefully. Two fluffy cubs follow closely behind. They first pause curiously in place, their round eyes scanning the snowy surroundings. After a few seconds, they tread cautiously along their mother's footprints, appearing adorably chubby.

As a first-class protected animal in China, snow leopards are known as the 'kings of snowy mountains.' They have extremely stringent requirements for their living environment, and their presence serves as a “barometer” of ecological health. The clear capture of snow leopard family in the Dayi area of the Giant Panda National Park not only demonstrates the remarkable achievements of ecological conservation here—with dense vegetation, abundant prey, and safe habitats creating a suitable “home” for snow leopards—but also provides invaluable field data for researchers studying the population structure, breeding habits, and activity ranges of snow leopards. This helps fill gaps in regional ecological research on snow leopard families.

In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the Giant Panda National Park system and the strengthening of ecological conservation efforts, more and more rare wild animals have been frequently 'making appearances.' A picture of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature is gradually unfolding across this land.
