Recently, Sichuan province released a list of its first 20 industrial Metaverse research and tourism sites, including Bazhong Memory Cultural and Creative Industrial Park and Enyang Popular Science Center. 

Bazhong Memory Cultural and Creative Industrial Park

The park is located on the site of the former Bazhong Silk Factory. Through creative renovation, it has become a benchmark for Metaverse research and tourism that integrates industrial history and digital technology. The park has skillfully preserved industrial relics such as chimneys and water towers, and used modern lighting technology to rejuvenate them at night. At the same time, it has actively introduced VR experiences, drone research and other activities, and collaborated with the "Nighttime Tales of Bashan" project to create an immersive Metaverse experience that transcends the virtual and real world, and connects the park and the Bahe River.

By the end of April 2025, the park's average daily passenger flow had stabilized at over 7,000, with peak daily reception capacity reaching 20,000.

Enyang Popular Science Center

The Enyang Popular Science is committed to building a national-level ultra-high-definition industrial base for innovative applications that integrates ‘audio-visual technology, cultural and museum scientific innovation, animation and science fiction, as well as research and popular science’. Adhering to the principle of "using the camera to record knowledge inheritance and using light and shadow to spread the power of science and technology", it has become a leading popular science research destination and a new highland for digital cultural tourism in western China and across the country. The center is the core carrier of a key project at provincial-level in Sichuan province, covering an area of 130 mu (8.67 hectares) with a total construction area of 43,000 square meters.
