On October 30, the 2025 Luojiang Poetry Festival commenced in Luojiang District, Deyang City, bringing together over 200 participants, including poetry experts, scholars, and representatives from all walks of life.
The festival aims to use poetry as a bridge to connect ancient and modern cultural heritage. Through an innovative model of “cultural decoding + technology empowerment + cultural tourism transformation”, it seeks to broaden the appeal of the Luojiang cultural IP, allowing its millennia-old poetic tradition to radiate new brilliance within modern cultural and tourism integration.

During the opening ceremony, the People’s Government of Luojiang District, Deyang City, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Poetry Institute of China and officially launched the initiative to jointly build a “City of Chinese Poetry”. This marks a new stage in the brand building of Luojiang’s poetry culture development, shifting from periodic events to systematic cultivation. In the keynote speech session, five speakers elaborated on the cultural genes and contemporary value of Luojiang poetry from diverse perspectives.

Luojiang not only carries a thousand-year-old cultural legacy but also nurtures a vibrant folk poetic sentiment. At the event, three local farmer poets, Long Dunren, Yang Junfu, and Lu Xiaoyue, took the stage to recite their works. Through simple and heartfelt verses, they shared stories of the land beneath their feet, reflecting a deep resonance between poetry and everyday life.

The festival’s theme song, “Poetic Luojiang”, was also released during the event. Performed by the pop singer Ji Minjia, a member of the China Musicians Association, the song interprets Luojiang's poetic charm through the language of contemporary music.
The Luojiang Poetry Festival has become a cultural landmark renowned throughout the province and influential across the country. This poetic legacy has fostered cultural confidence among Luojiang people, driving them to carry forward the heritage with conviction. The festival’s upcoming events will expand into an open poetic-tourism space that is immersive, experiential, and transformative. (By Tang Sijie)
