During the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day period, Chengdu's Night Tour of Jinjiang River launched a cultural event themed “Hibiscus and Osmanthus Filled the Air of Jinjiang with Fragrance · Full Moon Celebrates the Prosperous National Day”.
From October 1st to 8th, the Jinjiang area from Dongmen Wharf to Shuijingfang Wharf was transformed into a stage. Through innovative forms such as immersive performances and water-land interactive experiences, it brought a cultural event combining tradition and modernity to citizens and tourists.
The scene of the activity
At night, the surface of Jinjiang shimmered with light, and more than 20 NPCs in Hanfu clothing walked slowly. Li Bing, a wise man in water management, stood at the bow of the boat to talk about the thousand-year-old wisdom of water conservancy; Li Bai, a Tang Dynasty poet known as the “Poet Immortal”, raised his drink up to invite the moon and recited the beautiful scenery of Sichuan... These historical figures not only took photos with tourists, but also connected the ancient Shu civilization, Tang and Song cultures with present-day Chengdu through well-designed plots.

At Dongmen Wharf, installations of the city flower hibiscus and a light show enhanced each other's beauty, sketching a poetic picture of “the town's heavy with blooms”. Meanwhile, in the “August Osmanthus Market”, visitors could take part in making osmanthus sachets, experience traditional tea ceremonies, and even try the intangible cultural heritage of tie-dyeing with the guidance of NPCs.
The scene of the activity
After the launch of the “Hibiscus Reflecting the Moon” themed light show, the light picture showing “Celebrating the Nation and Family Together” slowly unfolded. A crimson reflection on the river intertwined with the actual scenery along the banks, unfolding like a poem where majestic landscapes and the glow of countless homes flowed with the shifting lights.
The scene of the activity
Breaking away from traditional tourism model, this event created a new experience integrating “water and land, past and present”. Cruise boats served not only as transport but also as moving performance stages on the water. The wharves along the shore became spaces for ecological and cultural immersion, extending the experience through creative markets, distinctive business activities, and waterfront performances. This multi-dimensional use of space turned the Jinjiang River area into an open-air exhibition of urban culture.
