On April 20, as the 2025 ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup concluded in Macao, Chengdu officially took over the event’s ceremonial flag. Amidst the waving banners, Chengdu issued its invitation to the world: “Welcome to the 2025 ITTF Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu!”
During the flag handover ceremony, eight Macao elementary school students performed We Are Together—the promotional anthem for the Chengdu Mixed Team World Cup—while Bo Zai, the mascot of the 2025 Macao World Cup, made a lively appearance. The children’s choir, bathed in stage lights, symbolized the intergenerational transmission of sportsmanship and celebrated the friendship between Chengdu and Macao.

Wuhou’s Themed Exhibition Booth
As the host of the Chengdu Mixed Team World Cup, Wuhou District unveiled a themed exhibition booth at the Macao venue under the slogan “Sanctuary Land of the Three Kingdoms, Zhuge Liang’s Legacy.”
Throughout the event, the booth showcased Sichuan’s cultural treasures—including Shu brocade, traditional tea sets, and Sichuan Opera masks—alongside displays of Wuhou’s urban charm, event mascots, and licensed merchandise. The exhibition drew crowds of spectators, exemplifying Chengdu’s success in fostering regional sports and cultural exchanges while narrating its unique urban story.

Notably, during the 2024 Chengdu Mixed Team World Cup, Wuhou leveraged the event to launch the World Cup Park & Golden Week initiative. Centered around the Sichuan Gymnasium and the surrounding Yulin district, the campaign integrated culture, commerce, tourism, and sports across Chengdu, generating 380 million yuan in consumer spending.
