The closing ceremony of three key events—the Seventh Annual Emergency Expert Training and Discussion and Backbone Team Mutual Training held by the State Grid Southwest Region, the 2024 State Grid Corporation's Centralized Assistance Training for Emergency Management, and the Power Emergency Coordination Drill for Border Areas between Southwest (Xizang) and Northwest (Xinjiang)—took place at the State Grid Sichuan Liangshan Prefecture Dechang County Emergency Training Base on December 20th.

The event officially opened on December 16th, bringing together over 230 emergency experts and backbone team members from six provincial power companies—Zhejiang, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Qinghai, and Gansu—under the State Grid Corporation of China. Participants from East China and Northwest regions gathered for mutual training and skill exchange, collectively honing their emergency response capabilities. They demonstrated the rescue prowess of the State Grid’s elite emergency response teams, embodying the spirit of the“Power Iron Army”.

The closing ceremony of the event featured several key segments: highlights of emergency work from participating units, an exhibition showcasing past emergency activities in the Southwest region, a display of new power emergency equipment, and a cross-regional collaborative emergency drill for power supply assurance in the Southwest region. Mr. Xuejun Wang, Director of the Safety Supervision Department at State Grid Corporation, gave high praise for the event. He expressed earnest expectations for consolidating the outcomes to enhance the level of training and discussions, continuing efforts to advance regional emergency coordination, implementing multiple measures to strengthen disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities, and promptly initiating emergency responses for civilian power supply assurance.

This event effectively tested the emergency response coordination capabilities for power supply among Sichuan, Shaanxi, Chongqing, Zhejiang, Xinjiang, and Xizang. It has accumulated valuable experience for joint emergency rescue efforts, serving as a beneficial attempt to build a comprehensive training platform. This platform aims to enhance regional emergency coordination, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and collectively improve the capacity to handle emergencies.

The event concluded successfully with a flag-handover ceremony between the leadership of the Southwest Branch of State Grid Corporation, this year’s host, State Grid Sichuan Electric Power, and next year’s host, State Grid Chongqing Electric Power.(by Bai Yibing)
