On November 8, at the Aba–Chengdudong 1000kV Ultra High Voltage (UHV) Alternating Current (AC) Transmission Project (Aba–Chengdudong UHV Project) crossing operation site in Wujia Town, Mianyang, Sichuan Province, power line workers completed the high-altitude tightening of cables and installed all necessary components on Tower 84. With this, the Aba–Chengdudong UHV Project successfully completed the early-stage line-laying work for crossing over the Debao Direct Current（DC）transmission line.

The Aba–Chengdudong UHV Project begins at the Aba 1000kV substation and terminates at the Chengdudong 1000kV substation, spanning four regions—Aba, Mianyang, Deyang, and Ziyang—across a dual-circuit line stretching 371.7 kilometers. To minimize any impact of this line-crossing work on power supply stability, State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Corporation organized an early-stage line-laying for the Aba–Chengdudong UHV line across the Debao DC section.

"Previously, we completed 4.37 kilometers of line construction and erected 10 transmission towers. Following that, within 15 days, we completed a series of tasks, including stretching, tightening, and accessory installation for the power lines,” said Gong Yigui, Director of the Mianyang Division of the Aba Project Division, State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Corporation.

It is learned that the Aba–Chengdudong expected to be completed by the end of 2026, the project will play a key role in advancing the development of a new power system in the southwestern region.(by Qin Kang and Yang wenhan)
