On the afternoon of November 12, a total of 180 green energy projects worth 86.13 billion yuan ($12.1 billion) were signed during the signing ceremony of the 2025 World Power Battery Conference in Yibin, Sichuan province. The agreements cover key sectors such as power batteries, new energy storage, photovoltaics, and the digital economy, reflecting strong industrial clustering and growth momentum.

The Signing Ceremony

More than 50 leading companies, including listed firms, high-tech enterprises, specialized and sophisticated SMEs, and gazelle companies, have chosen to settle in Yibin. Among them, 26 major projects valued at over 1 billion yuan each accounted for nearly half of the total investment, marking dual breakthroughs in industrial leadership and investment capacity.

The projects span the entire industrial chain, from raw materials and battery cells to core components, extending to demonstration applications of intelligent connected vehicles. They are also expected to drive breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies and deepen integration between industrial and innovation chains. Upon reaching full production capacity, the projects are expected to generate an annual output value of over 90 billion yuan, contribute more than 5 billion yuan in tax revenue, and create nearly 30,000 jobs. The deals will not only boost the local economy but also help attract talent to Yibin’s growing green energy sector, laying a solid foundation for a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
